tommysTV is REBRANDING!

The 101 intro to a rebrand:

Rebranding is a marketing strategy in which a new name, term, symbol, design, or combination thereof is created for an established brand with the intention of developing a new, differentiated identity in the minds of consumers, investors, competitors, and other stakeholders.

tommysTV had a great journey! We went from a one-man band to hiring  our first employee right out of Best Buy, to “exploding” to 5 full-time employees in 2014.

The journey has taken me from freelance film kid to co-owner of a 7 man creative shop. And that’s where the rebrand comes in. tommysTV was a great vehicle to get us here, but the name no longer represents who we are, and as far as rebranding goes, it all starts with the name.

Speaking of rebrands, did you know Best Buy started in 1966? It was an audio specialty store known as the Sound of Music. But by 1983, Sound of Music’s offering had grown way beyond audio. Enter Best Buy, the multinational consumer electronics retailer.

So while tommysTV is still the spirit of what we do, we are no longer just a video production company. We make incredible content through design, animation, and live action video. We are masters of Brand and Story. We are Echo Tango.
